Tourist Visa

If you wish to come to Australia as a tourist or for recreational or social reasons, to visit relatives and friends or for other short-term non-work purposes, you must hold a visa before you travel.

  • Visitor Visa (subclass 600)
    The Visitor visa is available to eligible passport holders who wish to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes for up to twelve months.
  • Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601)
    The ETA system can be accessed by more than 300,000 authorised travel agents worldwide. The eVisitor is available to passport holders from Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong (SAR of China), Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and United States. The ETA visa authorises multiple entry to Australia over a twelve-month period, for stays of up to three months on each occasion.
  • eVisitor Visa (subclass 651)
    The eVisitor is available to passport holders from the European Union and a number of other European countries wanting to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes. The eVisitor authorises multiple entry to Australia over a twelve-month period, for stays of up to three months on each occasion.
